I have taken a master's degree in Political Science in March 2007 (here can you read my entire thesis “The swedish social model and globalisation” if you understand italian) then I decided to move on to something else. But rather then moving on, I have moved back to my oldest passion: programming.
I have always been programming as a hobbyist. It started with a Basic course at school at the age of 12, then a Pascal course at high school. After that I started to look with interest at C and later at C++.
When I was told by a friend that there was a job opportunity in a programming firm and they wanted some inexperienced programmers to train, I decided to book an interview. Soon I realized that my skills were not good enough to get that job, then I started to train hard to improve my skills in all the newest programming languages and techniques.
Using ASP.NET I have learnt to develop web application, then I dedicated myself day and night for two months to realize an ambitious project, a virtual pet simulator on a persistent server, and I made it!
Of course it was ugly and bad-designed but it worked!
Then I understood which my real vocation is: I am a programmer.
When I have moved to Stockholm in the beginning of 2008, the priority was to improve my Swedish, then I took a course in "Swedish as a foreign language" with good results.
After that I decided to follow my vocation and I applied for a place in the 2-years course “Application developing in .NET” at Academedia.
The course has started in August 2008. It is focused on the .NET framework (C#, ASP.NET, SQL server, …) but it also includes some collateral important subjects like Flash, HTML and JAVASCRIPT.
At the same time I started to develop some personal projects and other works for customers.
In October 2009 I will start my second period of practice and I am looking for a place to do it. If you re interested please contact me here.
Here are some informations about the course

I have always been curious and creative. For all my life I have written stories, songs, taken pictures, shot movies and music videos, invented games, board games, videogames.
I love to play. I have to dedicate a part of my day to playing, everyday. Any kind of playing, from sports to computer games.
I like the kind of entertainment that forces me to be active, to think. My only moments of relax are those that I reserve to quality cinema and literature.
Another part of my day must always be dedicated to creating something or to learning something new.
I started to play bass guitar at the age of fiftheen. I played with many bands on many stages in Rome and nearby, learning to play also the guitar and starting to get interested in computer music.
The most successful and satisfying experience has been certainly that with Appuntoeffe.
Appuntoeffe is my current band, even if it is not in activity at the moment, since we are scattered all over the world. In this band I play different instruments, according to our needs.
I have also made some videoclips for our songs.
Football is my weakness. After a couple of weeks I had moved to Stockholm I didn't have a job, but I did have a football team to play in.
I like everything that is related with football. I spend hours dreaming of being a manager, playing Football Manager. I don't miss a training with my team Kronobergs BK and if I am not in the first team when we play I become sad.
And then in the weekend I don't miss a match of my favourite Serie A team.
My final goal is to program video games. That is what I really dream to do. I have new ideas everyday that I am try to put in order to build a project. In the meantime I am learning how to use the instruments to put them in practice.
Wish me good luck!
